Hot as nuked pistol

Hello all. You have probably noticed how quiet PPP has been in the last month. This is because I have a show in the fringe festival. It’s a monologue type thing called Meet me at The End. A kind of cynical though imploring epic poem with too many film references. It’s staged in the Campbell Arcade, which is that pink subway that runs from Degraves st to Flinders St Station. The Arcade where Sticky Zine Shop lives. It’s set on the last night for planet earth and it runs entirely off D cell batteries and is lit with torches by the audience. It’s a spoken word performance about the apocalypse which could actually be staged during a blackout/flood/hurricane/nuclear shit fight.

Meet me at The End is on the 29th and 30th of September and the 1st, 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th of October. 8pm. Campbell Arcade (Degraves st entrance) It’s 5 bucks. And you get free spacefood sticks, tea, and all kinds of other gimmicky joy. Buy tickets here

It’s really, really soon. And the stress of preparing it – plus some personal stress caused by mega break-up, multiple flatmates disappearing and new ones arriving and all kinds of strange conflicts and fits have prevented the finishing and uploading of any new PPP posts. But, by mid October I should be able to get back into it and bring you my extremely over thought defense of Lars Von Trier, inspired by my experience of Anti Christ. Which was terrifying when I saw it at MIFF (So terrifying in fact that me and another solitary movie goer, a stranger, almost grabbed each other from fear) but which, as I have thought more about it, has become one of the most important films I have ever seen.

Also, I’ve been drafting an analysis of girl band music Spector to Spice Girls. The battle being aural pleasure versus didactic dissemination (you can dance to both). YEAH! And that’s called, RAD.
